Lilián URIBE, Professor, holds a Ph.D. (1990) and an M.A. (1989) from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, and the degree of Profesora de Literatura, Instituto de Filosofía, Ciencias y Letras, Uruguay (1982).
Dr Uribe is the current Chair of the Department of Modern Languages.
Among her publications are Como temblor del aire: la poesía de Juan Gelman (Montevideo: Vintén Editor, 1996), and Juan Gelman: Antología Poética (Montevideo: Vintén, 1993; 2nd ed., 1993). She is also the author of numerous articles on contemporary Latin American poetry and several reviews on Latin American literature. Dr. Uribe serves as Contributing Editor for the Handbook of Latin American Studies, published by the Library of Congress.
She joined the CCSU faculty in 1990.
