SPANISH 599 and Thesis
The Masters Thesis is required of all graduate students completing degrees under the Plan A option. The thesis represents a report of original scholarship. It is written under the supervision of a member of the graduate faculty with the advice of a second reader. The first step of the dissertation is the writing of a proposal under the supervision of a faculty member and following the regulations specified in "A Handbook and Writers Guide" (Table2-2), prepared by The Graduate School. The proposal must be approved and signed by the MLD faculty member and by the Dean of Graduate Studies. The MA thesis does not require an oral defense. The recommended length for a MA/MS thesis is between 80-100 pages including notes and bibliography. "A Handbook and Writers Guide" regarding the writing of the MA thesis can be obtained from The Graduate School.
