The Modern Language Department has a limited number of graduate assistantships available each semester.
Eligibility: To be eligible, graduate students must be fully admitted, pursue coursework within their planned program of study and leading to completion of their degree in the Modern Language Department. A minimum GPA of 3.00 for all courses completed in the Department is required for consideration of renewal. All candidates must submit an application form along with their Curriculum Vitae which will be reviewed by the Graduate Studies Committee.
Course Loads and Work Commitments for Graduate Assistants: Assistantships are available on a half-time basis for ten (10) hours of service per week.
Stipends: Half-time graduate assistants receive a maximum stipend of $1,200 each semester.
Responsibilities: Graduate assistants may supervise the Language Laboratory or serve as tutors, assist with technology, work with faculty who are doing research, provide tutoring sessions, help design and implement curricular departmental activities. Faculty and graduate assistants will work closely together for their mutual benefits.
