c) Presented a paper entitled Censorship and Ideological Control in the Novel. (Northeast Modern language Association, NEMLA; Hartford, March 30-31, 2001).

d) Presented A Sociolinguistic Reading of Don Quijote and participated in the discussion sessions at the International Conference of Cervantes Scholars that was held in Greece (October, 2000).

e) Delivered a paper on The Spanish Censorship on the Short Novel of the Seventeenth Century at the Modern Language Association Annual Conference in Chicago (December, 1999).

f)  I gave an introductory presentation and conducted a debate on the film Open  Your Eyes at the Latin American and Spanish Film Festival (Trinity College,    November, 1999).

g) Presentation on  “The Oral Tradition in La Celestina” in the panel on Five Hundred Years of La Celestina at the Second Florida International University Conference on Iberian and Iberian-American Literature (October, 1999).

h)     Presentation on the topic of The King as Public and Creator. Scientific and Philosophic Bases of the Golden Age Court Theater” at the Kentucky Foreign Language Conference (April, 1999).

i) Delivered a paper on the “Images of Un perro andaluz, by Luis Buñuel, on the Poetry of García Lorca and Rafael Alberti” at the Conference on Foreign Films and Literatures; Villanova University, November, 1998).

II.vii. Forthcoming Conference and Chaired Panel

Northeast MLA Conference (Boston, 2003). I will chair a panel on the Creation and Re-creation of Literary Genres during the Renaissance. I will present a paper on the topic of the transformation of the idealistic fiction in the Spanish Letters.

a) Connecticut State University Research Grant, 2002. Project titled “The Polemics Regarding the Morality of the Theater and the Literary Censorship in the Spanish Letters of the Seventeenth Century.”

b) Connecticut State University Research Grant, 2001. Awarded for my proposal entitled: the Spanish Censorship of Books during the Counter-Reformation Period: A Cultural-Historical Critique of the Inquisition’s Influence on the Novel.

c) Connecticut State University Research Grant 1999. Awarded to the project: The Spanish Short Novel and the Transformations of the Prose Genres during the Seventeenth Century.

d) University Autónoma of Madrid (Spain). Graduate Research Grant 1988-1989. Awarded to my work on Juan Pérez de Montalbán, a Spanish novelist of the XVII century.

1.     Organization and introduction for the presentation by Dr. Adolfo Roitman, Curator and Director of the Israel Museum that holds the Dead Sea Scrolls (March 13, Founders Hall). The History Department, the Honors Program and Middle East Studies sponsored the event.

2. Co-organizer of the Western European International Festival (April 9, 2002; Davidson Hall 123). The event was intended to promote the West European Studies Program to students of French, German, Italian and Spanish.

3.  Co-organizer of the Film Festival in Homage to the Spanish Filmmaker Luis Buñuel (CCSU, November,  2000).

4. Organization of a Colloquium on the Tendencies of Contemporary Spanish-American Poetry (April 18, 2000).

5. Brought in Health Program Supervisor at UCONN Medical Center, Ms. Victoria Barrera, to discuss Latino Community Health issues (Spring, 1999).
