Louis AULD joined the CCSU faculty
in 1987. He holds a Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College (1968),
an M.A. in French from U.C.L.A., and a B.A. from Oberlin
College. He previously taught at Kenyon College, Smith
College and Duke University and served in the
administration of the Yale School of Music. His primary area of research is seventeenth-century French literature, with special emphasis on word-music relations. Author of studies of Moliere's comedy-ballets, the literary origins of French opera, early French art song, and the court ballet, he also founded the LYRICA Society for the study of word-music relations, and edits its journal, Ars LYRICA.. |
