Tina Wu, a Chinese Professor at Central Connecticut State University
(CCSU), received her Doctorate from the University of Connecticut in
1993 with a focus on Instructional Technology and Second Language
Acquisition. She is the winner of the John Schmitt Award for outstanding
research from New England Educational Research Organization (NEERO).
As a recipient of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Scholarship in
1986, Tina was honored to represent CCSU by participating in a rigorous
Chinese Teacher training program at the Chinese Language School in
Middlebury College, Vermont. In addition to many years of experience in
teaching ESL (English as a Second Language), She has taught Chinese at
all levels including Business Chinese, Chinese Heritage, Classical
Chinese, Elementary Chinese, Intermediate Chinese and Modern Chinese
Literature.
Tina serves in the Society of International Chinese
in Educational Technology (SICET), an affiliate of the Association for
Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), as Vice President and
Board Member. Being a member of the national FLAP/ACTFL Grant Task Force
chaired by Christy Brown, she is also participating in the development
of a process that is replicable across the nation and across levels for
the collection of student work samples in an electronic portfolio
system.
Tina is an active presenter. Her expertise and
professional interests are instructional application of emerging
technologies; design and implementation of blended and online courses.
